President & Founder
A science, agriculture and business writer, entrepreneur, marketing strategist and public relations consultant, Sarah began her career as a daily newspaper reporter. She left the newspaper business to pursue a position in the political arena, working as a media analyst, writer and photographer in Wisconsin’s Assembly Caucus. Following a two-year stint as managing editor of InBusiness magazine in Madison, in 1988 she launched Sarah J. Fletcher & Associates (now Botham, INK.), a marketing and public relations consulting firm that specializes in branding and strategic planning. She is also president and founder of Acala Farms, a food products business launched in 2012 and president and founder of WiscoBoxes, launched in 2016.
Sarah holds an adjunct faculty position in the Department of Life Sciences Communication in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. She teaches classes in marketing, branding and print and electronic media design and advises the UW–Madison student chapter of the National Agri-Marketing Association (NAMA). Sarah oversees the organization’s activities and is the competition coach for its national-championship student marketing team.
She holds a board position with Elkhart Lake’s Road America and has held past board positions with The Peoples Community Bank, The Doyenne Group and the Barneveld Public Library. Sarah earned a B.S. in Public Relations and Speech Communications with a minor in geology/engineering from the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater and is a licensed private pilot. She and her husband, Peter, have one adult son, Mills, who is the Head Coach of the UW-Madison Sailing Team and Head of Instruction for Hoofers Sailing at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
In her free time she enjoys reading, gardening, cooking, sailing, bicycling and motorsports.
